Got bored and designed bumpers for my Power Wagon

I did these on Adobe Illustrator not CAD so no measurements or specs. Just aesthetics...
Bright colors for illustration...

front... the grill guard would be round tubing...

there has only ever been one front bumper that I would put on my Dodge but it is discontinued. That pisses me off. I found a shop that can make a similar style but the tubing would not be as big (4 in)... I want the clearance and look of a pre runner style bumper but I hate the stupid looking aluminum sheet in the front.
this is the one I like. Road Armor Sahara...

I would recommend that you do a search of Road Armor complaints before you buy. I spent over a year dealing with them and it took filing criminal charges to finally get my order. I wanted my money back, but I took what I could get. I would advise that you stay away from Road Armor.

OK, good to know. Like I said they discontinued that model so I won't even be able to buy from them... I will have it custom made! I was looking at the Trail ready bumpers and they look like they have a better approach angle than the other brands I have seen. They don't have a side view of the bumper on their web site and that is annoying.
Anyone had any experience w/ TR bumpers? I might get one for the wifes WJ. They just look stronger and are better looking than the ARB on a WJ.

Fab Fours front bumpers stick out way too far for my liking. I heard another guy describe them as having a Jay Leno chin... I wheel this truck so I want the best possible approach angle in a winch bumper...

I did the Ranch Hand, although it does stick out a bit much. And you have to modify it as they say it won't work d/t the factory winch. We reinforced a nonwinch bumper with a second roller while keeping the factory winch mount. And it is HEAVY at 300#!! If you find a rear with a swing away please let me know. Also, currently installing Don Thuren steering and links to allow for 37's with no lift.

You are probably talking about Layne at Denver Off-Road. He is in Grand Junction, CO. Don't have the number off hand. We have one of his bumpers on our Dodge and it is truly an awesome work of art.

Been a busy summer, dont know how I missed this thread. I am thankful you are not going to go with RA. For anyone else considering it - I would second the STAY AWAY from Road Armor sentiment. I tried getting a bumper from them and it took me contacting the State Attorney Generals in the states of Washington and Texas to get my money back from them. Basically, they got a small business loan from me, interest free, for 7 months. In the end, it worked out for the best since I got an ARB bumper that I love.

Ugh...if you google Road Armor Problems you will find my story on a couple of other sites.

Back to the topic at hand:
AW, you have a nice design in mind, make sure whomever you are going to contract building it is a good communicator and will be on the same page with you, and willing to send you daily pics in case they are not close to you. You may want to build the bumper up in cardboard first following your CAD design so you can see if there is anything that needs changing before you have it done in steel.

Any updates on this project? Kinda in the same boat myself. I love the Sahara design but no one makes anything like it anymore but your design looks pretty darn good!
