Got Igloo? Meet Icebox.

I was doing some research on ice caves due to the tragedy on Mt Hood, and came across the Ice Box (www.grandshelters.com) an Igloo making tool.

It still looks like an awfully cold way to camp... but at least you're sheltered from the wind.

It might be worth an experiment anyway.

did the USMC winter survival course a few years ago, and we did snow caves for 10 days. It isn't bad at all if you do it right to keep from getting dripped on. I keep meaning to buy one of those, and wish i had as i have waist deep snow outside to play with at the moment.

From what I read it's not too bad with two people... but it is time consuming - like 4 or 5 hours. I think I'd be ready for the hot chocolate and the ski lodge before I finished building one.

Maybe Scott & Chris could do a product review on that during their Arctic Circle trip....
