Got myself a Dual sport!

Hey everyone,
I picked up a KLR 250 from EXPO member red87.

I was looking for a starter bike/commuter. I have been doing some practice riding around the neighborhood, and backyard. I am signing up for the next MSF class this week.

Cant wait to get out on the road and onto the trails. I feel like I missed out for the past 25 years. Why did I wait so long to get a motorcycle?

I haven't taken any pics yet, I'll get some up tomorrow.

awsome! they are fun little bikes, you will really like it as both a starter and a commuter.

my favorite things about a bike? you cant go for a drive around the block in a truck and come back with a grin on your face :)

The moment I rode my bike around my neighborhood was life changing. I cant believe I never had one. It feels so great to ride.

Remember ATGATT! Get the best gear you can afford. You will be dropping that beauty at some time. Trust me, it happens to all of us. Good gear keeps what should be a minor inconvenience from becoming a major accident.

Oh, and have fun! I'm envious. That is the size bike I want next. The Dakar is gone and I'm looking!

I laid her down today. I was horsing around in an empty dirt lot after the rain, I was whipping the tail end around and i leaned a bit too far. i just got a little dirt on my knee and my hand guards. I was wearing all my gear. (I usually forego the riding pants, but I'm going to start wearing them all the time)

I think I'm gonna buy some new tires, get rid of the knobbies for better wet pavement performance.

I got some wolfman luggage soft bags, and have been building up a tool kit, and I think I'm gonna get a rear rack made for it. I am going to take it down to a local bike shop to have it gone over. maybe a new chain.. but overall its a great bike. starts first kick (if i have the engine stop switch on run....)

I have ridden it to work a couple times, but i'm not supposed to ride at night.... and since time change it's now dark when I go to work. Bummer...

My MSF class is in 2 weeks.

there are a couple more KLR250's on cl.... I totally want to buy them ha ha
