Gps antenna interference

Recently I installed a gilsson external antenna to gain better reception on my StreetPilot 7200. Lately it seems that my FM radio reception is awful. The GPS antenna is installed on the roof of my cruiser about 1 foot behind the radio antenna tip.

Can the GPS signal alter that of the radio?

The signal from the cable might, but really shouldn't.

The GPS antenna is receive only. In general, it takes an RF source such as a HAM radio to cause interference.

Perhaps you bumped the antenna wire loose while installing the GPS antenna?
