GPS III Plus

So someone gave me a gently used a Garmin GPS iii plus. A client of mine is moving and they had a drawer full. So I'm thinking I'm going to put one my boat. Problem being the marine maps are no longer available since the unit is discontinued. Anyone have any of this software laying around???

I found the World Map software with the Nav assist on Ebay for $16 NIB. We'll find out if it works in a few days....

Time to order a Ram Mount and take the boat out for a spin next weekend.

It's a good unit. I had a GPS II+, IIRC, and was always happy with it. I kind of liked the triangular profile on it. Made it easy to mount on top of a Land Rover dashboard. I used self-adhesive Velcro strips. Worked for years. It's still in a drawer somewhere.

A friend of mine had his GPS III constantly on while driving for something like six years. The only problem he had was that one of the lines on the display gave out. Otherwise it worked flawlessly for thousands of hours.
