great demonstration of cruiser ifs vs solid front axle:

The rocky sound track was a good choice, it makes me want to box a Russian, and find out why Adrian doesn't know how to cook:

a few things....

- The video labels and timing of them was off (lockers on the 470, when LX 450 lockers were on etc)

- The LX 470 driver was using the ATRAC Correctly - which is unusual :)

- ATRAC works better when the front wheels are pointed straight ahead

Nice work.

Too funny with the Rocky music. Well done.

ATRAC is pretty amazing, especially with a driver who uses it correctly. That said our 470 just got F&R ARBs...mild overkill. :)

The lx 450's and 80's when observed in their element, are almost boring to watch. The weight balance, suspension articulation and low end torque of the big I-6 makes for some of the most drama-free ascents/decents of inhospitable terrain.

Yes. Each version of ATRAC is slightly different but mine doesn't like too much throttle and torque. I find it's easy to overpower ATRAC in low gear so I tend to climb in D to let the engine lug a bit to allow ATRAC to "catch up".
I drive an 04 4Runner so things might be different with other years and models of Toyotas.

What's considered the "correct" way to use ATRAC? My guess is slow and steady throttle?

Correct. 2500 RPM in the 100 Series is usually very effective. If you over power the system (too much throttle) it will simply give up.

Low range low gear is fine on the 100 series using ATRAC.

When you realize that you have to use the bathroom, but there's like a 5 minute walk to a porta-potty, your sphincter automatically applies the breaks.

When your 100 series senses wheel slippage, it applies the brakes.

By golly gee whitaker, **********, uhhhh ATRAC is quite amazing.
