Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve

Took a trip down to Great Sand Dunes National Park for a quick overnight camping trip. The primitive road is still closed so just pavement pounding and few forest service roads. Being on top of the tallest dune in North America while seeing snow capped mountains was one heck of a cool experience and I'll be returning when the 4wd road opens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Sand_Dunes_National_Park_and_Preserve

WOW, these pictures are great! I was there about 5 years ago and a cold front rolled in while we are out on the dunes and the winds started howling. It was pretty crazy. Say, you didn't happen to find my Ray Bans did you?!

Dang I wish there was more snow on those mountains. Maybe they are getting some more right now. Nice pics!

Thanks for the comments guys! Always good to know people appreciate trip reports/pictures as much as I do! At least when we're cooped up we can jump on expo and live vicariously through one another!

No raybans haha
