I am not sure if this product has been discussed here before?

Any vendors in the USA?

I have seen those somewhere... REI, Cabelas, etc. Just google it. Some one in the US is carrying it. Would love to hear some reviews on it. It does look perfect for backpacking.....

Those are distributed by most of the major outdoor accessory companies in the US. So, any quality outdoor store should be able to get them. We order them from Liberty Mountain Sports in Utah for our store.

They're cool little grills. Very well made, but a little hectic to assemble. Not the kind of thing you want to assemble or pack away in the dark. Tons of little parts to lose.

I've had one for a year and a half or so and I do use it and like it but it does have a couple of short commings. I think it is a bit heavy for back packing and it is a bit of a pain to put together quickly. Other than that it has been great. Will handle steaks for two; cooks great and is fairly easy to clean. Cools quickly so can be packed right away. These days mine spends most of its time in my motorcycle saddle bags

I've used the Grillipot for about a year and half's worth of summer/fall camping before eventually ditching it. It's a novel concept and intelligently designed, save for some shortcomings, namely:

It's heavier than it looks.
Rattles when stored.
Lacks stability in anything but a flat, solid surface.
Requires the charcoal bowl, which doesn't store as nicely as the grill tube.
Grill rods deform when not used in conjunction with said bowl (I placed mine in the fire pit before I bought the charcoal bowl).
Doesn't take well to a good size slab of meat.
A bit of a prima dona since you have to treat it gingerly and not bang it around.

After taking all this in consideration, I bought the Open Country Explorer Grid (http://www.rei.com/product/401121). Made with heavier gauge SS, it has held up nicely and folds flat. Two are available at my local REI. One that's 12x6 inches and a larger one 23x12 inches. I have two of the smaller one which allows me to configure as necessary on the fire pit and stores compactly.

I did find one DIY'ed nicely. If you have to have one that stores like the Grillipot, check this out: http://www.bplite.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=913
