HEY! Don't you know that's how you get a Defender from the factory?
Sure, now you spill it! In defense, you did say "this is how she looked when I parted with her." Not, I must emphasize, "And this what she looked like when I picked her up from the factory!"

Didn't I read somewhere that you're an esteemed overland trainer? :yikes:

While the above might be true, for legal reasons concerning import and export I can say no more. I stand by do-it-yourself kits!

There you go reading again. Didn't your mom warn you about that?

esteemed? You must be thinking of someone else. Unless that refers to being full of hot air . . .

cheers

Holy cow, he said he painted it but he didn't say that he'd completely resurrected it. Don't let my camera phone's poor quality fool you, that LR looked right. It sure caught my eye and turned my head going down the road.

ttravis - Very likely you saw him too. He mentioned driving up from Denver today. I can't imagine there were two blue-ish 110's with an RTT on top, passing through our areas today.

Driving a Defender through Wyoming.... what a great way to spend the day. :smiley_drive:

That was probably Dustin as well. He's going to be up in Yellowstone for the rest of the week, then heading up into Montana.

He called me right after he met up with you, and mentioned you bumped in to him. He was pretty happy to get the Yellowstone tips too, since he left his guidebook and notes at my place back in Denver.

This is a little off-topic, but I remember about 2.5 years ago while moving from California back to Canada, I came across this particular vehicle driving the opposite way on a Utah freeway: http://www.robgray.com/wothahellizat/worts/wort_17/index.php

I was pretty stoked as I'd read about that online quite a few times (I'm a sucker for these big homemade overland trucks). I got all excited and pointed it out to my girlfriend (now wife) who is very patient with me.

I remember that one too.

It was featured on some Travel Channel show a couple of years ago, the same one they showed Joaquin Suave's Caza Azul. It was a great story, how the builder created accomodations for his wife.

Certain areas of the west just lend themselves to seeing some great expedition-type vehicles.
