Wanted to give a shout out, and a thanks to lysol for the inspiration to take this trip myself.

Ran the trails yesterday in a bit of snow. Great trip.

I grew up in Arlington and got to camp in the GWNF about 30 years ago. I loved the isolation. I feel the same way you do about trying to get away from it all and then ending up packed in with so many other people the place looks like a refugee camp. I never told anyone how cool it was, though - why start a stampede? :sombrero:

Great shots and a great trip, and count me as another dog lover, too. Looked like he had as much fun as anyone - maybe even more!

The snow pics look nice, too. :ylsmoke:

Anybody have an interest in doing a day trip on these trail or others in the area Sat., Dec 14? I will be in the area for a meeting at 9 am that should take less than an hour, and then would like to enjoy the day on the trails, but prefer riding with a few more folks.

Very Nice!!!

The wife and I went back there a few more times. One weekend, we camped out at Meadow Knob, but it was windy as hell up there. We also found a neat little camping spot a few miles past Skidmore Lake. It's was nice and secluded. Heck, we've camped at this spot twice now... lol. I would love to get back out there this month, but all of my weekends are packed... January is definitely looking good for a few weekends out there.
