GX470 shopping: price opinions...

as the title says.. shopping for a GX for my wife's DD. After considerable searching, I found an '06 year GX in Blue Mica (medium blue, one of our preferred color options) with our preferred options for interior colors, third row seats (required), and sport package (including KDSS). Car is on a Lexus dealer lot, which means it comes with a limited powertrain warranty from Toyota/Lexus.

It has navigation (not a requirement but I think you have to have that package to get the upgraded Mark Levinson stereo). It also has the DVD rear-seat entertainment system (which I would have foregone but the presence is not an issue for me).

The vehicle is in "good" condition, with some noticeable wear, particularly the cargo area of the interior (minor damage to the headliner "walls" from some PO putting kit in/out of the rear). Outside has numerous scratches/nicks, stone chips on leading edge of hood, etc... Detailing guy resolved a lot of them, but the deeper/bigger ones remain. Seats and dash all appear to be in good shape.

Test drive was pretty much flawless other than discovering the E-brake is not connected. Dealer just installed new tires all around (not my choice by brand new Bridgestone Duelers, which list at about $670/set on Tire rack (before shipping/install, figure about $800 if done retail).

I know we're not going to "steal" it from a Lexus dealer, but after one round of negotiation, they've come from (roughly) $25k down to $23.5. I don't' know if I'm unrealistic but I want to get under $22k for it. If you've had any recent experience with the search process, or sales on these.. I'd appreciate any feedback.

I'm in a similar situation in looking for a new to us DD. How many miles on this one? It seems like prices go sky high in just a few years of production regarding these GXs. I found a 2003 on CL in Cincinnati with 120k miles and all the goodies you mentioned. They are asking $15k. There is also a 2005 with 85k miles asking $19.5k.

Yeah, I guess mileage would be a factor in valuation ;). The one I am looking at has 75k. Your 2005 seems to be about market price or better.

I used cargurus.com to find my last two cars. Their site lets better deals "float" to the top based on average market pricing, and the filters built in are great.
FWIW, I bought my 05 Tundra from a dealer 900mi away because shipping it was so cheap, and I was able to get him down 4k under KBB.

I see a couple GX, one with low miles and your preferred color, but unsure of sport, etc...
