H4 LED headlights on Gen 2.5

Anyone fitted one of those? Is the beam focussed or would it blind the oncoming traffic? I know HID headlights do that(blinding) without a projector in our cars. My goal is to get better brighter headlights without blinding the oncoming traffic.

Thanks

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Late models don't scatter the beam like the normal Gen 2 does. I have HIDs in unmodified Gen 2.5 headlamps and they don't blind anyone.

Not sure on the LED but you can fit them then look at the pattern cast on a wall. Should have a sharp cut off and look like _____/ _____/

Tried it, not worth it IMO. I was running some 85W Narva bulbs in the stock housings and wanted something with a lower current draw so I tried the LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com. Definitely a down grade, they look really bright but just don't throw light like a halogen or HID bulb. To get a decent amount of light in front of the rig I had to run with the high beams on and that just pisses people off lol. Ended up taking them out and running some 35W HIDs instead. Way better light output than even the Narva's, less current draw than the Narva's, don't have to worry about running extra relays for the added current draw and I don't have to worry about the heatsinks for the LEDs. I feel like the LED bulbs would work a lot better with a proper projector but with the OEM housings HID's are the way to go if you don't want to stick with halogens.

Never tried them in a 4 wheeled vehicle but I use an ADVMonster H4R3 in a Hella reflector setup that i fabbed on my KTM EXC that works wonderfully.

Got any pics of the beam against a wall? I hate with a passion opposing traffic cars with hid kits installed on non-projectors. The glare is super annoying and I flash whenever possible.

I'll take one this weekend. For what it's worth i have 2" of lift and 37" tires, never have been flashed. When i had my '00 Montero sport and installed 100w halogens i got flashed like crazy and had to take them out.

More recently it's known as "9003/HB2" so you might get more options.

Sports seem to have their headlights adjusted too high.

Also pictures of lights/lighting are not going to provide any info. Walking out and taking a picture with a normal or even SLR camera (without a bunch of pre/post processing work while controlling variables) doesn't provide useful information.....this is why Silverstars are/were so popular but they lost a lawsuit for false advertising.....it's kind of like how stereo systems, compressors, cordless drills, vacuum cleaners etc. are advertised using meaningless metrics or a single unit like voltage.

The human eye and cameras are not good at detecting differences in lighting.

Regarding brightness level agreed. Though I am curious as to how much glare will be produced when an hid kit is installed in the 2.5 housings. You can get a rough estimate of the cutoff when pointed against a wall in the dark like the example below.

True on glare but the camera must be set to manual with the exact same settings and ambient light and location for even that to work
