all we truly need is a wet bath, queen bed (north & south) ice box, stove. dinette for 2, in a 8' floor, for 3/4 ton sb, is it not possible??

Talk to Coyote RV / Phoenix pop-ups they can build you exactly what you want. Well they might not do a full height door...

I know Rob has done a full height door, but has lots of good reasons to avoid doing it again.....

Right or wrong, Hallmark it is. Thanks for the info. P.S. need a camping spot in southeast Tahoe for return trip, got married there 26 years ago and want to swing through

Did you buy a guanella? Congrats if you did! I think Hallmarks are one of the best. Post some pics:)

Edit: We stayed at Grover Hotsprings State Park last fall. It is about an hour southeast of Tahoe. Go through Carson City and then south to the 88. It is just outside of Markleeville. It's a really nice spot.

I have always used frame mounted brackets with chains and turn buckles. It works well, and is simple.

Everest

I purchased a 2011 Hallmark Everest last summer. Great camper, better than the Northstar 650 I had in the past. The Northstar was less expensive, but I also had issues with it: small holes in the popup material, wood screws not holding, cabinet doors flying open, etc. With the Hallmark it was pretty much put it on the truck and drive. Both companies have great technical support, and no camper is perfect, but I'm happy with my Hallmark.

nice rig kyle, lets go camping together ( I will need your shower) actually second guessing the purchase, why have a larger camper with no holding tanks, no shower, no genny...why wouldnt a light wieght minimal rig work??? You are only inside to sleep and incliment weather...I am sure some are saying,, DAH,,, still learning....liking the idea of a custom Phoenix..but for now this will get us back outdoors..and that is the ultimate goal...time will tell

Getting it home: Take out the bottom corner brace bolt in your bumper and put an eye bolt in there. 5/16" - 3/8" would be my recommendation. (Face the slot where it comes together forward.) Those are your rear truck tie down points, and they work very well. For the front, I drilled eye bolts into the underside of the camper, closer to the inside corner, and used turnbuckles to the factory tie-down points in the front corners of my truck's box. Hmm. Now that I think about it, I didn't drill them at first, I just replaced one of the jack bolts with an eye bolt. (My camper has brackets that go under the sides, not onto the corners.) Once I got it home, I put nice tie down points in the front corners of the box, down through the floor brace underneath. I added eye bolts to the inside front corners of the camper to match. No problems so far. FYI, the driver's side tie down is a bit of a pain to tighten through the tiny side access door, but I don't toss the camper in and out much, so I don't mind.

Camper work is in my camper thread here
And truck work is here.

I like my hallmark, and it is holding up well for a 18 year old camper that lived outside it's whole life!

Home with the Guanella

I once again have faith in people, took a big chance and bought this sight unseen, and it was better than expected, stored in a climated controlled
garage and a couple nights of use, it looked new. Long trip back but enjoyed eastern sierras on the way home. Found a used happi jack front mount to get it home, so no major off road. Now to consider the ideas presented for a better tie down system, thanks. Why are the 1"-2" ratchet straps not used more often?? Thinking of just utilizing the front mounts and maybe a center rear mount??? Nothing to the bumper, they are so thin and cheesy couldnt imagine it lasting long. Sure like the way this is built, but with only 4 nights in it, already some minor changes will need to happen to make more friendly for our style...

Nice thing about the Everest is it can be customized. I chose no holding tanks, no genny (hate them, have solar instead), and no toilet, but I do have a shower. Grey water goes into a bucket. Wife is very low maintenance as well; doesn't even need a porta potty -- that's what campground toilets are for, or if boondocking, that's what the shovel is for.
