Looks really good, David!

Question regarding your Russian import exhaust fitting: Can you jam the little muffler into it from the outside?
Thanks!

I'm surprised you still remember that sweet exhaust flange! I'm not sure if I correctly understand your question but on the "inside" the exhaust hose connected to it but I'm not sure you could attach a similar hose on the outside. Next time I see my old ambo il try to snap close up picture

Yep, I remember! lol

I am actually going to hang mine up above the rear doors (inside of a sweet molded enclosure
thingy I scored at a wrecking yard), and can't decide if I want that muffler inside the rig.
Or outside by just inserting it into said fitting, when only in use.
With the outlet being up so high, not sure if I even care about it.....

Building my spare tire rack now, but will do the heater install after that.

Thanks!

Been waiting for ages to take on this little project and its finally functional! Still need to do a bunch of finishing but at least I can now stay warm while working inside!

Looks great David! Congrats on getting it installed. Personally I'd never swap my diesel heater for a wood stove but I think it's awesome you're doing the build exactly the way you want. :)

Oh I'm not swapping anything, just adding :)

I still have an hydronic and a airtronic lined up!

The little wood stove is just such a great heat source, makes spending time in the van so much more enjoyable and also a last resort if everything else fails ;)

Cheers!

And again, some of my setup has changed, lol.

I think all of you guys with similar ambo as mine (2004 or newer Crestline) might be tempted to follow my lead on my new shower setup!

That's all I'm saying for now, once I get started I'll post pictures but trust me... awesome solution for tight space!!!

Tiling day.

That was the easy part! Left over tiles from house project, some cutting and a good dose of PL Premium.

Now, can someone remind me how fun it is to drill through thick stainless steel?!? Took me over 1hr (and a bunch of drill bits) to drill 9 holes!

I hate drilling stainless. Go buy a good bit for the job and keep the pressure high and the speed low. The tile looks good. I was wondering about doing tile backsplash with going down a bumpy road etc. I was thinking the PL would be good enough and DAP no more nails for the "grout" or something but after thinking about how much weight I have in cabinets already it I went with tin tiles.

Yes sir! Makes so much sense!

I'm moving my starter batteries to the opposite side and using that space for the shower. I'll seal an aluminum lid on top of the contour edges which will turn into a 5 gallons holding tank (with a servo valve to drain as needed). Shower controls are under my sink, easy reach. I used a neat little hot/cold bidet valve instead of a bulky shower valve but those damn bidet valve have unique toilet threads which gave me some headaches. I figured it out but sure glad it's hidden 'cause I'm not too happy with it. All good now thoug.
And for the shower, when not in use I'll just cover it with a carpet.

That way it saves me tons of space and gives me more than adequate space to shower. And I can shower with the door wide open when I get fed up of my noisy neighbours!!! lol
Pretty stocked about it!

Don't you just love the improv and originality that goes into everyone's builds? I certainly do!

I'm struggling with the small space of my shower plumbing as well. It's interesting how hard it is to find a low profile mixing valve that operates like a shower mixer valve and not a "3-way valve". I have need looking at a bidet mixer but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
