Hammock tent ideas

Use a Blackbird for jungle trips and I love it. You really can't go wrong with one.

I use the Whoopie slings for ease of adjustment. They are really cool and make set-up a breeze. Also suggest the double layer hammock as you can loose a lot of heat out of the bottom surface without a pad, and the double layer makes setting the pad much easier. I use a GossamerGear pad.

Here is mine set up on the beach in Costa Rica:

Hey, whoopieslings.com is my old business!! Nice to see it crossing over into ExPo. Looks like youve got the All in One set-up there... Nice.

Ill second the Warbonnet Blackbird. Very comfortable hammock with built in netting that doesnt get in your way or make the inside of the hammock feel cramped and tight.

Someone mentioned Clark.... Albeit pricey, it is pretty much a complete system. I found even their larger tarp leaves something to be desired. IMO it doesnt provide enough side protection. There is another company that makes one called the "Switchback" at www.stores.tttrailgear.com... This to is a well thought out design that is close to that of the Clark. It also provides ample space inside.

I have a hennesy Asym with snake skins, It's comfortable. Stayed nice and dry one rainy week in West Virginia. The Eureka Tetragon leaked continuously. Understand that mosquitos can bite you through the hammock fabric though.

Yes, it is possible. Treatment with permethrin is common.

Some have experienced that mosquitos can not get through a double layer hammock while others say its still possible. I personally prefer a bug net that encompases the entire hammock rather than have one just over the top for the times when its buggy.

IMO I think Clark is the best hands down. I bought the NX-250 when I went on an expedition to Central America. I bought the NX-250 because I lived in New England at the time and it gets cold. 4 season hammock with plenty of space (I am 6'3", 250). The tent poles are ideal imo for making it feel more roomy. If your camping in the cold, bring a fleece blanket and will solve the cold issue.

429 was worth the quality (not putting down any brands). If I chose something other than clarks it would of been the BB.
