Hi all, anyone have any Costa Rica questions, been here for over 15 years, so feel free to ask, anything really. Other then that, just bought a base 1991 FJ80, bought it cheap enough to justify upgrading it, as the base 3FE with full time 4x4 and an auto, and it does not have the power needed to tow in these mountains.
So over next 3-4 months putting together the knowledge and then having FJ80 experts here, transplant a healthy Chevrolet Gas V8, as trying to do a 100% Toyota Big Power Diesel conversion, here in Costa Rica, is beyond tough and expensive, and if it breaks, hard to get parts for the higher HP motors, and I need it to be easy to fix, its a project vehicle and need it, not a hobby weekend vehicle, so I figure a newer Cevy V8, 6.2 to 7.0, is probably the way i'll go.
ANY hints, tips, advice, dos and dont's etc, from you experts, greatly appreciated.
And HAPPY New Year 2017 to everyone.
Raymond
