Like most things made in china, you can get high end stuff, or low end stuff, and a lot of it looks pretty similiar. Its up to the purchaser to decide how much they want to spend on bolts, screws, capacitors, and even paint. Heck, the warn VR series end caps look pretty much the same as these.

My Badlands 12k has performed flawlessly for me. I've used it many times for recovery, and even for pulling sawed down trees.

Interesting, did you do any research before posting that to support your "observation"?

I can tell you that fishing rods are this way. We purchased a container of different size rods, for $1 per foot. It did not matter what size, color, design, or line rating. These rods are the same as a very prominent name fishing supplier that sells their name for 5 to 10 times more than we do.
