trip to texas was a success had alot of fun caught alot of fish

i fixed the "sway" it wasnt sway at all it was just the suspension was too bouncy.... from when i greased the axle perches, aparently that is a nono with these kinds of springs. i did it so offroad it didnt jolt the vehicle so bad when it dropped into big holes, which it did great, but caused the suspension to give too easily. i cleaned all that grease out and that fixed it

we had a huge tree fall into camp that was some scary stuff it landed on my brothers truck bed and gave it a ding, luckily it wasnt too bad if he was back about 3 ft it would have smashed the entire cab of his truck, with a little chainsaw and a huge tractor we got it pulled out of the way and resumed our camping

weather was awesome besides day 2 the wind was atrocious. hence the big table blocking the fire so the chicken would cook on the spit lol.

heres a few highlight pictures.

Just getting started on planning a similar size build and really appreciate the dialog this forum provides. I like your hinged top but am not seeing seals to help keep the water out. Did you use anything for that issue?

yeah if you look under the lid theres white weather stripping around the perimeter of it.

also, if just starting a new build... if you can weld i recommend starting from scratch, starting with a harbor freight trailer is just a waste of money, the only thing original on mine is the square frame and the springs. the only good thing is you get a serial plate if you needed one, i dont need it in OK as we dont have to register trailers.

im actually thinking of a new build in the not so distant future, this box is too small.... or my camp kitchen is too big i guess. lol planning on building something like 51 wide and 60-68 long for the box, doing that i can also put water tank underneath, lots more room... or i can just pack less stuff, idk lol.
