Did you take any videos of the Hardsider? It's a little difficult to understand what's going on in your pictures.
I can't even believe I'm even still interested in this thing (mostly the IDEA of it) after reading the terrible customer service. I think it's because I love the idea so much that I want them to succeed. Not sure why open communication and updates is hard to do. I'm sure customers would understand if they just did that.
What's wild to me is I got an email response to an inquiry I made on their website on 1/24/25. It seems like word is getting out to them somehow. But too little too late? I'm not so sure.
I understand you rooting for them! I live less than 100 miles from their facility so it's nice to see a new popup camper coming from somewhere other than the West Coast. Three years ago when I was in the market I would have checked them out for sure in person!
I ended up with an AT Summit that I drove out to Arizona to get installed. I don't regret the decision at all, but remember wishing there were closer options. I will say, however, I never felt nervous about getting my product and they only required 20% down to start my build. They have a solid reputation, excellent service, and make a top-notch product.
The issues some are describing remind me of the Vagabond debacle. Similarly, this was a company that had a stellar product(or 'idea' in Hardsider's case), but lousy customer service. Folks kept sending them money because they did just-enough to make it seem they were delivering campers. Many people lost a lot of money from that deal and it could have been me as well- they were basically a draw on my favorite at the time.
I guess my point is to error on the side of caution. I'm not saying give up on them just yet- I still want to see them succeed! However, I think before anyone else sends them a dime we should see FINISHED products from ACTUAL customers!
