Hardsider wedge camper out of Ohio

If you have a deposit, don’t wait for your camper.
Seems like from the issues you described starting in this post, it's basically a prototype of something that could be decent if they get the bugs worked out. But the lack of communication and misrepresentation of the product make me glad that Amex approved my request for a chargeback.

Exactly.

The IDEA is wonderful.

The execution is horrendous.

The communication and treatment of paying clients is inexcusable.

I was there before Christmas. They are busy as hell. There are at least five units in production and the CNC was going all day. There's only about 7 people.
Your unit looks different than their photos. Your posts do not reflect anyone elses expierence. What gives?

For real.

We need to continue to post about them to get the word out as people continue to come out of the woodwork with the same experience.

It's a Hardsider- the hinges and extrusions are unique to them.

They've built more than just the prototypes - you could see that in the recent shop tour video on YouTube. It would be great though, if there were owners willing to post their impressions of a delivered unit - good or bad.

I posted mine.

I kept it less than 24 hours before I returned the POS.

They still won’t refund my money.

Crooks.

Exactly what I've been asking for as well. Good or bad, I need to read, see, and watch reviews and see a CUSTOMER with the actual unit.

Did you take any videos of the Hardsider? It's a little difficult to understand what's going on in your pictures.

I can't even believe I'm even still interested in this thing (mostly the IDEA of it) after reading the terrible customer service. I think it's because I love the idea so much that I want them to succeed. Not sure why open communication and updates is hard to do. I'm sure customers would understand if they just did that.

What's wild to me is I got an email response to an inquiry I made on their website on 1/24/25. It seems like word is getting out to them somehow. But too little too late? I'm not so sure.

I understand you rooting for them! I live less than 100 miles from their facility so it's nice to see a new popup camper coming from somewhere other than the West Coast. Three years ago when I was in the market I would have checked them out for sure in person!

I ended up with an AT Summit that I drove out to Arizona to get installed. I don't regret the decision at all, but remember wishing there were closer options. I will say, however, I never felt nervous about getting my product and they only required 20% down to start my build. They have a solid reputation, excellent service, and make a top-notch product.

The issues some are describing remind me of the Vagabond debacle. Similarly, this was a company that had a stellar product(or 'idea' in Hardsider's case), but lousy customer service. Folks kept sending them money because they did just-enough to make it seem they were delivering campers. Many people lost a lot of money from that deal and it could have been me as well- they were basically a draw on my favorite at the time.

I guess my point is to error on the side of caution. I'm not saying give up on them just yet- I still want to see them succeed! However, I think before anyone else sends them a dime we should see FINISHED products from ACTUAL customers!

Interesting that when I searched for "hardsider" on YouTube now, this video came up:

The video was posted on 1/27/25, and I've been searching for "hardsider" videos fairly regularly since joining this thread. Surprised my algorithm didn't pick it up any earlier.

Anyway, thought this customer's review was pretty interesting considering the only other review that's within this thread -- and they're both on F-150s.
