Hardtop headliner / insulation question

I currently have a 2010 JKUR. Back when I purchased it, I found that the hardtop radiated heat quite noticeably to he point I could feel it on the top of my ears. When it is 110 and you have the cold ac blowing an heat resisting on the top of your head, not only is it annoying, but is also fatiguing.

Long story short. I ended up buying the soundcoat headliner from northridge 4x4.

The quality was great and looked OEM. It insulated the top beautifully and cut noise down by 3 dB at my right ear (I physically measured with a spl meter). What I liked is that it had the acoustic mat, foam, and nice finish surface. The foam is about 1.25" thick. The die cut fit is precise. Really helped improved the efficiency of the a/c. I would recommend this to anyone with a 2010 or earlier JK. (it does not fit 2011 and on due to the design change of the interior profile of the hardtop.

So after a couple of years having this, I am very used to it. I ordered a 2013. When test driving I immediately noticed the lack of headliner. It is noisier and hotter.

My question is this :

Does anyone have the hotheads in a 2011-2013?

Have the boom mat

Another brand?

What are your thoughts? How Is the fit / finish? Does it make a difference with noise? Heat? Any input and or photos would be greatly appreciated.

We have the HotHead's in Miss Rubi - they certainly help.

At roughly 3/8" thick, they arent' as thick as the other products. The fit and finish was good, the fabric was a perfect match to the leather seats.

The Mopar headliner has been on backorder since it was first introduced last year. No one seems to have received a set yet and many are patiently waiting. If the quality is good, they have the best price since the kit includes the side window surrounds for under $200.

I have the Hotheads in my '12 JKU With the rear side panels. Couldn't be happier. The sound improvement is definitely noticeable, and its been so much easier to maintain a warm Jeep this winter.

I ordered the boom mat. It seems closest to the soundcoat. I may put 2.5 mil foil backed mastic in first then the boom mat over that. Trying to maximize sound deadening and thermal efficiency. I am planning to line the floor pan with a combination 2.5 and 4.0 mil foil backed mastic.

In know it's a jeep (have had many before my 2013) but I want to make it as quiet as possible. From where I live to the nearest camping/hiking/wheeling attraction is many many miles of highway. A lifted jeep with aggressive tires can just wear you down on hours of pavement.

Again once the process starts I will post pics.

Received the boom mat today. It is virtually identical to the soundcoat, in fact the instructions look the same. The only difference is that the sound coat has a 3-4mm (guessing without measuring) dense mastic type layer. That would help attenuate sound a little better by adding mass, but I don't think enough to make an appreciable difference.

Again, just waiting for the new jeep to arrive.
