Anyone know if he tags along with crews or attends events?

Or do you think he just got suckered into the whole getup from the salesman? heh

He is also into planes (I think he recently took delivery of a restored bushplane).Funny thing is, he looks as old as me now.:)

If I had as much money as Harrison Ford, I'd be into bikes, planes, boats, Earthroamers (Unicats?) and a bunch of other stuff that would make Keith Richards' heroin budget look like lunch money.

Debbie was feeding our VW Westy in a gas station in Jackson, Wyo. and Harrison Ford rode up on a Harley and said "Hi, nice bus, I used to have an old one myself." A couple of weeks later he announced his divorce. I was climbing the Grand Teton and missed the whole affair.

Cheers,
Graham

His hangar was next to ours when I was based at Van Nuys. Cool guy with some cool airplanes.
Glad to see he has good taste in bikes. :)

Is he zipping his jacket or flashing some sort of sign?

Option B.

Euro zippers are on the opposite side from US zippers.

Yea...strange...but you get used to it.

As to the comment of being sucked into the whole package by the salesperson....BMW makes some great gear. I wore the same get-up for the TAT, and was happy in all conditions, save for the rain, at which time I pulled on a set of Frog-Toggs. The only problem with the BMW gear, is the price tag. If you can get past that....

I hear ya about the price tag. Although they are some pretty awesome threads. My dad worked on jets in nam and passed the interests off to me. Im a big fan of planes. I think it's cool that someone like that has time to even fly.

Like john Travolta. He LIVES in an airport haha. Can't get any cooler than that.

Its a small world.. The small plane I used to fly from VNY was hangared about 2 doors down from his and I guess by HMR's too.

Well, he's wearing Aerostich's Combat Touring Boots, and there aren't many salesmen to talk you into a pair of those....

I remember years ago when someone was interviewing him. They asked what was the coolest thing he'd ever done. He responded catching a trout on a fly he'd tied himself. I think that was before he got hooked on airplanes. I've heard that he built a house outside Wichita, Kansas. He spends a lot of time at Flight Safety there. After he did that one movie where he was an air taxi pilot in the South Pacific, flying a Beaver, he bought a Beaver himself.
