I don't recommend X-lining the body, maybe the under the tub. It's hard to wash the dirt/mud off the x-line body, better to paint the body. just MO. I agree put it together a try a camping trip, this will give you ideas on wants/needs. =brian

I thought about painting...that was first plan but the work would be so high that I decided the Line X. That was none of the pitting from rust needs to be fixed etc. spray over and it's gone. To get paint to look good there would be lots of body work.

The line x place does industrial work and they will blast it all, prime it and line x for me...

The trailer is coming along great! I was out doings some measuring I the front end of my M101 earlier today to build an extension just like the one you have built

It was a fair bit of work getting it all straight and even!

Well decided to run it as "Frankenstein" for the summer and get it Line X'd this winter. That will give me time to work any issues out and not wreck the coating.

Durabak makes a smooth bed liner that does not have the grit in it that holds the dirt. I used the white on the fiberglass roof of my Northern Lite camper to fix some crazing in the gel coat and make the roof not as slippery. A friend bought it and four years later he can go up and just wash the roof down and looks new.
I plan on using it on the inside of my trailer.

I think I need a bigger truck!
I used a roll on/spray on liner called Monstaliner. It is an activated urethane coating, and if you have it sprayed can have the same or less texture than the Line-X. It stands up about the same and is hard as nails. After some extensive grinding and sanding I primed the inside of my tub with mat POR15, and then coated it with Monstaliner. It turned out amazing and so I did the fenders and the front of the tub. The rest of the tub I did with marine enamel. I painted over the front that I coated with the liner, and not only did it smooth it out, but it looks fantastic. So good in fact I wish I had done the entire exterior of the tub with it!

Fenders rolled with a 4" foam smooth roller (very light texture)

Tub with supplied texture roller

Front of the tub, again rolled with the texture roller

Not trying to hog up your build thread (I can delete these if you wish), just showing some options. With a spray gun and 2 gallons of Monsta, you could save a lot and get very good results.

Very nice results. One suggestion...Get a good wheel on the tongue jack It makes life easier.
Will you be color matching the jeep when you paint it?

It's going to line X'd army green...they can colour match it. So the parts I painted above are the colour the entire trailer will be

Durabak does have a army green in the smooth. You can request a color sample for free from them and check it out.

Just a suggestion?
