New to the forum but have been lurking around a lot getting ideas on what and how to build my trailer. Picked this thing up earlier this year and the build has been chugging forward.

The day we picked it up and hauled it home...

Luckily the parking brakes were both in-tacked and work.

New parts to go on!

I was able to track down a new set of military surplus leaf springs for the trailer since the original ones were rusted so bad and starting to bulge.

The entire tongue is going to be replaced with a longer one that will hold a tongue box, spare gas cans and water tank.

Lid is almost done, just need the cross bars welded on for the tent to sit on.

It hopefully will be on this week. Using heavy duty pin style hinges to attach.

Started fixing and finished small parts. Got the reflectors all bent back into shape and painted.

New larger fenders are being made up. Waiting on metal for the new tongue so it can be welded up.

All bolts will be replaced with new grade 8 bolts. New wiring and lights for it.

To finish it up it will be Line-X'd entirely in a matte military green.

Started on the tongue and got a bit done...time consuming getting it all square and straight. Shot a lasers down it from the back to front and it's perfectly in line so should tow straight.

Very nice extended tongue!

Thanks! Still some work to do like covering the front in plate and then I'm going to put thinner sheet metal over the top completely.

Trying to decide if I should cut some holes in the tongue to loose some weight. The tubing is 1/4" and I wanted 3/16" so it's heavy.
