Link doesn't work, it wants a postal code but I couldn't guess the Canadian postal code format.
I have heard of people taking a metal tube, brake line for example, and wrapping it around an exhaust pipe then feeding the washer fluid through it for a low tech solution.

Sorry - darn new localized Crappy Tire site! Try postal code T2A 5N7.

Exhaust pipe could turn the brake line cherry red depending where you put it and some winsheild fluid has high alcohol content. I would think a heater hose might be a safer heat source.

stumptaco Please excuse the idiotic question, but why would you want or need to do this? Is it to prevent the washer fluid from freezing in extreme cold climates? If so, dont they make a washer fluid already that is good down to a rediculous temp with a type of antifreeze mixed in??

Educate me please....lol

My 03' Dakota at work has the fluid reservoir on top of the radiator and while not quick does a good job of warming the fluid. No matter what brand fluid you use, spraying it at the temp's we had lately can be interesting.

My windsheild just popped and broke while warming up from the defroster heat, no chips just below zero is all. I have no experience with the fluid heaters but don't like the idea of spraying hot fluid on a cold windshield. Warm fluid can be helpful once car is warm though.

Maybe they just wrapped it around the heat shield around the manifold, dunno, I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks for all the replies folks :luxhello: - Sorry I'd been up North on business so had only now had a chance to check back in.

Two reasons for re-locating the washer bottle - Firstly I want to free up all the room where the original is located for some wiring blocks and my battery switch. I also want to increase the capacity - I think at the moment it's around a gallon (It's a discovery 1).

BTW thanks MountainPete for the link to Canadian Tire and the fluid heater - that's exactly what I was looking for.

BTW the bumper on front is a standard one chopped down - The real deal is getting fitted as soon as it shows up off the container - the way that Homeland Security is these days they'll probably think it's a WMD :)
