Having issues closing Autohome Columbus Variant

Hi All: I am wondering if anyone else has experienced issues closing the tent? Specifically I'm having a hard time compressing it down to close with the latch, with just a hand on top, I struggle hard to get it latched. I only have the two factory pillows and two sleeping bags (small), plus the ladder, in the tent. I do my best to move the bedding to the high part of the tent.

I'm not new to using hard shell tents, had a competitor's model (hard shell, clam shel design) for many years and no issues.

The latch has been screwed out as much as it will go. I double checked the locks on the struts in case they were some not collapsing all the way, they still are loose....I never lock them anyway.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. (I am wondering about using a ratchet buckle, similar to the ski-boots, just to have some mechanical advantage but I'm nervous to rivet something into a new tent.

I have the same RTT...
You might want to move the sleeping bags and pillows to the middle of the tent.... and if you haven't already done so dont zip-up the side doors shot...
I manage to close mine with some effort, but i also have three sleeping bags up there.. and one air pillow...
Two are (ALPS Mountaineering -20°F Echo Lake) thick synthetic and one is down (TNF)...

Good luck
