Here are a few web sites that talk about kid-friendly activities in the Las Vegas area.

If you have the money, here are some adventure sports activities that a 13 year old would enjoy.

No sightseeing trip to Las Vegas would be complete without visits to Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire State Park, and the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. If you're interested in petroglyphs, take a hike in Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area.

If you have time on the drive home, I'd recommend driving north on I-15 to visit Zion National Park (try the Angel's Landing day hike) and Bryce Canyon National Park. Both are fantastic, in completely different ways.

One Word---Utah!!!

Zion, Escalante, Boulder, the list goes on and on...

Drive Hwy 12 to Torrey; then east to Hanksvillle down Hwy 95 and east to Blanding on your homeward bound trip.
