This was my view while dropping into Primm, NV in the middle of the night at 50mph. This is with my HID projector light retrofit on high beam and a single row 27" Morimoto XTorch LED light bar in the bumper. Pretty good amount of light without looking too far from stock or having bulky aux lights.

multiple thumbs up on the Truck Lite LEDs... installing them on my wife's DD was better than dinner and roses : )

The difference from the stock GMC/Chevy lights is, pun.... night and day. Side of roadway is now well lit and the distance on low beams is noticeably further out.
High beams? Oncoming traffic beware; way beyond HIDs IMO.

Extra flood lights for when the road goes up and down a lot would be helpful. Gentle slopes are no problem though. A big light bar mounted way up high would be awesome.

I was saving my pennies for the Trucklites, and I may still go that route. BUT, with the current costs and ready availability of HID projector setups, I decided to try it.
Got everything from Amazon for a little over $120.
Pilot H6054 housings with plastic lens.
2.5" projector lenses
4300k H1 HID bulbs and ballasts
Relay harness for H-4 bulbs
3" PVC caps (in hindsight 2" or 2.5" would be better)
JB weld
Some time and patience.

The 3" pvc caps ended up being too big to fit inside the headlight bucket, so I had to trim my buckets a tad. A smaller cap at the back would've avoided this obstacle, but it's easy enough to trim the buckets...

I also ended up painting the inside of the housings black. It just looks better.

A couple pics, but none at night yet as I just now finished the install.

It took some work, but it's an option

I don't know if you particularly care, but if your state has a vehicle inspection you may not pass as modifying the headlamp assembly invalidates the SAE certification. The details can be found in 49 CFR 571.108, that's the federal regulation, states have their own way to say that they follow it. For instance in Texas it is TC547.3215.

I like to tinker, plus I'm a cheap bastid so the decision to make my own was an easy one.
Again, it's an option. And an affordable one at that.

I just drove from SoCal to central Oklahoma and back. My projector retrofits worked great. Way better visibility. Not a single vehicle flashed their lights at me, and I did a lot of night driving.
Stoked.

Got some Vantage Optics HID conversion lights installed on my van. HUGE improvement. I couldn't ever tell if my lights were on before, but these things are Awsome! Redoval built and installed them and the difference is way more noticeable than you would expect.

The wiring is trash, do a bank of relays. Huge improvement for basically no cost. Trip relays with headlight switch and pull power straight from the battery
