Heat sink on D40 Navara rear diff

I´ve got what appears to be a heat sink bolted on to the rear diff of my D40 Tdi Navara. Is this also standard on Frontiers, Pathys and X-terras?

so the question becomes, why does a Navara need a heat sink while a Frontier can do without one apparently?

I think the Titans may have this in the USA and isn't it a D44?

It does look like a narrowed titan rear end. does that have a rear locker?

Yes they do. The Navara, Titans, and the Frontiers with the M226 have the same rear end.

It doesn´t have a locker. Yet. The ARB rear locker and air compressor is sitting at home waiting to be installed...

We may now know why Navaras have heat sinks on the diff and Frontiers don't: Navaras have a higher max payload, 500 lbs more, than Frontiers.
