No grommets, it's a blankie.

Its got metal grommets. This is far from the 'space blanket' sold at REI or the sporting good store.

I used one for three years as a ground sheet when i was a medic in the 82nd, they hold up very well.

Exactly. I still use one as a reflective footprint for my 2 man tent. Shiney side up helps reflect some of the body heat back at you. The rip-stop stitching makes it very reliable.

By the way, these are all same mil-spec survival blankets, there are several years of manufacture to the box you get may not look exactly like the one in the picture. The labels/markings will vary. Just an FYI in case you are buying the tarp for the box

these look like a heavier duty version of what we use in film/tv production to cover our cameras -- been using them for 15 years and love them. It's 5' x 7' and weighs 10 oz.
