I have a strange one here! I started my truck, moved it into the driveway to replace the passenger side exhaust manifold and parked it. I proceeded to replace the manifold, that is the only thing I worked on. When that was complete I jumped in to go for a test ride and it won't start!!! The engine turns over but won't crank. I have a good battery and even tried boosting it because I thought that was it at first. Anyways, I read the OBDII codes and I'm getting p0560-system voltage malfunction. I've checked fuses, ground connections, anything I could think of and nothing. Anybody got a clue what this could be? I need it fixed for a Father's day outing this weekend!!

Thanks,

Jamie

battery below minimum fault.

Did you check what the battery voltage is?, Clear the code, charge the battery overnight and retry.

Seems to be a fairly common issue with leaving accessories hooked up, and you have to clear the code for it to work? Seems odd if that is the case, but that's half the fun of having a Rover, right?

So wait. Your wording is confusing. If the engine turns over its cranking. But you state the engine doesnt crank. Sooooo which is it?

Does the engine spin/crank but it doesnt run?

Or does the starter not even spin/crank the engine over?

The inertia switch it was indeed!! I got the truck up and running again now. To my great dissappointment though the cracked manifold was not the entire cause of the fluttering sound coming from the passenger side. Any thoughts on that? Would a bad cat. conv. cause this type of noise?

Thanks,

Jamie

Could be the gasket from the manifold to the downpipe. Did you check or replace it? Or if it is a rattling sound then just crawl under the truck (with the truck NOT running) and tap on the exhaust all the way from front to back and you should be able to find it. Could be pieces broken off inside a cat/muffler/resonator.

Yep!! Found the leak. It was the bottom of the downpipe flange. It has a crack in the weld.

Thanks guys!!!!

I had both of mine taken off and welded. one side (forgot which) was about to fall down. not much holding it. It really didnt sound nearly as bad as you expect a gaping exhaust on both sides to sound
