Hello, my 1st post here...

Was wondering if some one could help me identify what version of the 2011 Wrangler Unlimited I have or at least what components it has...

My guess is its a mix for the different US versions. The only options when buying them new is the exterior and interior colors.

Here is the Spec sheet from the Jeep Egypt Web Site.
I would for instance like to know what differential I have or how I could figure it out. The dealership is worthless... Even when it comes to getting parts, everything takes 2 months+ if it ever arrives.

Would be more than happy to take pics to help ID it....

Second question is can some one please help me identify the spec of the spare wheel I need. Need a 2nd spare for a 12 day trip in the desert.

Looking for cheap and strong.

It comes with 245/75/17 tires from the factory.

I'm glad you made it over; that looks like a nice Jeep.
Somebody here will know things.

It looks like you have the 3.8L gasoline engine, D44 rear, D35 front, but I can't guess the gearing.
As for a wheel, if you want to match the backspacing of the stockers, look in the for sale section of Wranglerforum or Jeepforum for a 17" take-off. Many folks replace those wheels with aftermarket for backspacing issues.

Are you planning to keep that size tire or go bigger?

Yup, 3.8 gas. 4 auto. Those are regular open diffs right?

Plan is to keep the same tires... There is no selection in Egypt and they have done me well so far... Easier then importing tires.

Was thinking that a simple steel wheel will be lighter on the wallet then a factory AL wheel? What do you think?

It most likely has a Dana 30 in the front. Also, I would think aluminum would be lighter then steel.

I meant D30; sorry.

Aluminum is lighter and steel is usually cheaper. Here, anyhow.
But take-offs are often cheaper than new, etc. Sometimes you can find 5 stock wheels for $200...

And yes, the diffs are open. But Jeep uses "Brake Lock Differentials" on the open models. When the computer senses wheelspin, it applies brake force to that wheel and slows it down, transferring torque to the wheel that might have traction.
I'm not sure if this will help much in sand though. I'd still want a few tricks up my sleeve.
