Good call on keeping the truck. They're the best route imo, having had SMB, RV, SUV, and now full size truck with camper you nailed it imo. Trucks and truck campers are a great route to go.

So some time has gone by and I got my new tires and flairs on. Spent a couple weeks camping out of the back in CO and it was okay but want more room. There are a few pop ups for sale locally on CL that are pretty fairly priced so that is tempting.

Also really thinking about going with a flat bed and setting a popup on it or building a full custom permanent mounted camper. I bought a Breezer removable back window so I can have a pass through but haven't installed it yet. The flat bed would allow me to have a wider camper and I like the idea of having storage boxes underneath. Another feature would be fold out steps because jumping up in the back now is a pain.
