Looking to install an 12v outlet plug to the rear of my jeep unlimited and was wondering if any of you guys can help me with tips and tech. Saw that the ARB kit is garbage so looking to make my own, do i copy it, or what? thanks in advance for a NOOB

Buy 10guage wire, blue sea or west marine plug and some crimp on eyelets for the battery. Will be cheaper than the ARB and work just as good. Yes I installed the ARB, the plug end was DOA and the eyelets had to be snipped as they were too small for the military/HD battery lug bolts. The ARB 10g wiring was nice quality, but the rest was lacking. Not yo mention the ARB uses a hella/euro plug end. So if you buy the ARB kit make ure what ever you plan in plugging in uses the hella ends.

The cheapest basic setup put one of these fuses on the bolt for the positive bolt on the battery

and get some 10gauge min wire and connect to the other end of the fuse and run back to the spot you want your 12v plug. Pick what ever plug you like the best as there are many different ones.

You want the fuse close to the battery.

If you want to spend a little more get a blue sea fuse box like my setup, that will give you more options for other 12v items you need to power in the future. I ran 4gauge wire to under my driver seat to the blue sea fuse box, then 6gauge to the 12v plug in the back so I could run my 1000w inverter from the 4gauge side and my 12v air pump off the 12v plug in the back with the 6gauge wire but the options always whatever you want.

Just do it up right. Buy a Blue Sea fuse box. Mount it up on the footwell wall next to the driver's left foot. Run 6-8 gauge to the fuse box from the battery. Then you can run whatever you want from there. I have two Marinco 12vs in the back of the LJ.

Here is what I use.

I am running 4 marinco 12v outlets with good luck. Two on my dash and two on the Tuffy console for backseat use (five year old rides back there, needs more power than me LOL). Fronts are fused 20amp and backs are 10amp.
