Help needed to quieten squeaky brake

My bike (DR200) developed a squeaky front brake after I replaced the brake fluid. As far as I can tell it doesn't squeak during braking only after I release the brake when stationary. If I re-apply the brake or start moving the squeak goes away. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Graham

sounds to me like it's just dragging a teeny bit... I'm not familiar with the adjustments on the DR, but did you even touch the caliper (other than the purge, of course) when you replaced the fluid?

EDIT - re reading your text implies that the brake only makes noise when absolutely nothing is moving??? Do you mean the act of squeezing is squeaky?

If I adjusted anything it was accidental and I didn't notice it! I checked the wear indicator on the pads but didn't move anything around to do so.

The brake only squeaks when I come to a stop and release the front brake. If I squeeze the brake it stops squeaking. Release it it squeaks. The bike does vibrate a bit but no more than before.

Graham

It may just go away on its own, may just have a teeny bit of pad grabbing or something. I will let people who know the DR better throw in their advice, though.

Wow. I'm impressed. Its been squeaky for a while and stopped as soon as your proclamation was heard in my garage today.

Now if you would be so kind:

My bike (DR200) developed a broken turn signal after I dropped it... :bike_rider:

He's is the CowGod after all. Place an offering on the garage altar and your bike will be healed. :cow: + = :bike_rider:

Well we did have a rather good roast beef dinner last night with plenty of leftovers for tonight.

If leftovers count, will the CowGod heal the leaks that have been plaguing my Jeep's hard top this winter? After this mornings rain I have several gazetteers and a bunch of maps drying on the kitchen table. :snorkel:

:cow: + ...

Hey... don't abuse the CowGod's power. And nothing will fix leaking convertible tops - why you think I drive a hardtop now?

And if you want to make an offering, both Omaha Steaks and Harris Ranch deliver...
