Help!!! Outback Extreme Air Intall....

Hello,
So, I just bought my Outback Extreme Air air compressor and parts. I'm all ready to install it but I can't find a place to put it. I have a 1998 100 Series Cruiser and there just isn't enough space. I don't want to put it inside. It doesn't fit on the frame rail (not enough space), and it just barely doesn't fit in the 2nd battery location. Any ideas? Pictures would be great as I'm stuck with a great compressor just sitting in a box.
thanks

Couple of questions for you. Which model of Extremeair air compressor do you have? Is your spare tire in the stock location? If not do you have anything in the stock location? Are you running your air system as a tank or tankless set up?

Martyn,
Great, I actually emailed you guys yesterday as well. I have the regular Extremeaire. My spare is up on the rear bumper so its an open space. I did find a thread for a FJ that a guy had built a bracket and installed it up under there. I wasn't sure if that was the best place for it or how to orient it, either sideways or upside-down. And how burly does the bracket have to be? I was just going to bolt right into the frame but the frame rail is thinner than the base plate for the Extremeaire. And I plan on a tankless set up for now but may move to a small 1 gallon tank system later to run my lockers off of in case I choose to get rid of the tiny ARB up in the engine compartment.

Do you have any install pictures of what the bracket or mounting location should look like?
thanks

Barely doesn't fit? Can you relocate the intake filter on the extremaire? or remove it and run an air line to your engine's air box, post air filter.

We haven't installed a compressor in that location on an FJ, but it sounds like you have space where the spare was. If you are worried about the sheet metal thickness you could put a stiffening plate on the inside above the mounting location. Apart from the Jeep JK we do not have a stock mounting plate or skid plate for this product.

Depending on how tucked up the compressor is you may or may not need a skid plate. We usually fit a stone guard if it's out of the way.

The compressor can be mounted in any position.

George at Extreme Outback offers full support on his products so anything that remains unanswered here he can fill in on.
