Help Programming Baofong UV-5R

I have a UV-5r, cable and Chirp. I am able to get the contents of the radio downloaded to my Mac but can't seem to get the repeaters I have saved in a .csv file uploaded. I have 98 repeaters in a file that I downloaded from Repeater Book using Chirp's query function. I can open the file but can't upload it to the radio. The upload to radio line is greyed out when I am in the .csv file and I am unable to cut and paste into the Baofeng data that I downloaded.

How do I get the data into the radio?

Thanks,

Chad

I got it figured out. I wasn't able to clone the radio from a .csv file I made from Repeater Book repeaters, but I was able to query Repeater Book directly and load the frequencies that way. I then renumbered them and uploaded them to the radio. It seems like a round about way to do it, but I have the channels loaded in my radio.

Now If I can just get my Yaesu to communicate with Chirp.

Seems like computer programing has gotten a bit better, used to be you had to have a seperate program for each radio you had to program. I only recently heard of chirp, I need to check it out....

Good luck with a generic program for quality radios.

I think I had a similar issue... the solution was to open up the CSV in chirp, copy/paste the freq's I wanted into the radio tab. Then upload to radio.

I did that, but when I pasted, the information would show in a window at the bottom of the window, but not in the tab. When I pressed enter nothing changed.

I'll keep messing with it, because I would like to have backups with different areas of the state loaded that I can install when needed.
