Helping a friend with a 3rd gen 4runner. Starter plunging but not spinning.

Not what I'm used to working on. Is this the contacts issue that LC starters are known for? Truck won't start at all. Battery is good. Starter throws out but that's all. What am I missing? Thanks, jesse

I dont know the symptoms but they contacts and plunger can both be replaced for not too much money. Sounds like you may already have more experience then me with the LC stuff thats probably the same.
