It's a 1996 Grand Cherokee, bought her in June 1999 with 48k miles on the odometer, currently has 153k. It has been a 3rd vehicle for about 4 years and only sees around 3-4k miles a year. Started beating it up the first week I bought it and has been through 3 suspension revisions since. Came with the 4.0, 242 transfer case, d30 front and d35 rear with the tow package that had 3.73 gears, but have since swapped in a d44. Current suspension consists of Rubicon Express 4.5in coils, upper and lower Teraflex newer style control arms, Teraflex front track bar, Iron Rock Off-road rear track bar, and Teraflex JK shocks in the correct length. Protection consists of JCR off-road sliders, ARB front bumper, BTF rear diff cover and Teraflex front diff cover, and a Rusty's transfer case skid. Gears are 4.56 ratio from Yukon. Power modifications include a Turbo City intake tube that I relocated the filter to the passenger side away from the heat, TB spacer, 2.5in converter and exhaust, and a Jet power module. Two sets of wheels and tires, 33x10.50 BFG A/T's on stock wheels and 33x12.50 MT/R's on black steel wheels. I modified the factory spare tire location so I can carry either 33in spare in the same space. I also have a Wilderness rack that seldom gets used, but only lighter items when it is needed. Transmission cooler is upgraded with one from an F-150 and also added a power steering cooler and steering box brace from KOR. Other modifications include a bit of fender and front bumper trimming. Spare front and rear axle shafts are strapped down in the back, and a large Action Packer holds spare fluids and other needed trail essentials. I'm probably forgetting a few things.
I have performed 100% of the work myself aside from having the gears set up by Six States last Oct and a transmission rebuild a few years ago.
Next upgrade is an Aussie Locker before my next trip to Moab in the Fall. The pictures are from 2 weeks ago on Kane Creek.
