Here is my new 1987 Pathfinder Quadravan.

I found this on craigslist in San Jose. When I saw it, I knew it was the one for us. We had an 05' Quigley, that was custom, but had to sell due to financial reasons. This van is a real cream puff. it was owned and maintained by a lab rat in Silicon Valley. He wanted it all, and spent on this thing regularly. It is an 87' model year, and is a 6.9l diesel. This is the XLT version van, has seating for eight, and has a bed in the rear. There is a banks turbo system, an engine brake, and a gearvendor overdrive. Interior is sweat, original carpet looks new, no cracks in the dash, seats are super nice with only wear on the bottom front two. Even came with spare filters, belts, hoses, manuals etc. These are all the pics I have for now, but will try and post more when I have time next week. We plan on having many adventures in this killer little 4x4 van.

Ya the interior is a little old school, but in near pefect shape. We will do some minor updates to it, and recover the front seats with the factory cloth that is on it now. To expensive to do the whole interior over. I haven't run a full tank though it yet, so I don't have an exact mileage yet, but I expect it to get 20 MPG highway, and like 16 in town. Time will tell, I know I can get 20 highway with my truck with the same engine, I think the van is lighter so it should do the same or slightly better I would think.

You can expect 20 MPG all ya want....I'll bet you don't see anything better than 16. Nice find!

I'll report back when I run some fuel through it. It is a bit lighter the yours being shorter, ans mine being 3/4 ton running gear, you have more resistence with the Bubble top to. I have a gear vendor overdrive to. I will do the math and let you know either way though, it may get less, I really dont know at this point.

Didn't realize it is an E250....also didn't realize you have an OD AND a Turbo. Guess I should read closer. Very lucky! I'm jealous.

You may indeed get up near 20 with that setup.

Plz don't think I was knocking the rig. I was making fun of the spelling...

sweet(candy) vs. sweat(sweaty armpits)

thats all. On the contrary, I really like the interior. Very easy to hide things like inverters/satellite radio/water filter/pump systems, etc. A thief would think its just another van. (at least here in san diego..lol)

I'll stop being a nitpick now. :D

No offense taken, I get in a hurry and don't proof read my posts, always bites me. Oh well, all this is just for fun anyway. I have been jamming what I do on the computer in between attorney meeting, grand jury meetings, and work. Not fun at all, I am hoping next week will be less stressful.:Wow1:

Well I took on a 200 mile trip today, freeways flat ground mainly. I was driving pretty fast, and was mashing the throttle a bunch. I wanted to see how high the EGT's would go, and how much boost I could get it to make. I was doing 75 to 80mph mainly, and really seeing what it could do power wise. I am very impressed with it's road manners and power. I suppose if I drove it like a human, and did 65 I could get better MPG's, but with everything I put it through today, I only got 16mpg. That is with the gearvendor over drive on at cruising speeds. I was turning around 2400 rpm. I need to slow down the rpm's a bit. I will do another calculation on the fuel economy driving 60-65 mph, and keep it under 2000 rpm or less, and keep my foot out of the turbo.

That is pretty friggin good man. Makes me think that the eventual turbo and GV on Boomer will get me up around 15. Any way you could post some pictures of how the GV is applied to the transfer case and how it works with the fuel tanks, etc? I've been wondering how exactly to make it fit...

seriously. my xj gets 17 when I drive like a maniac. 19-20 when i drive like a gramma.

very respectable that a large rig can get this, too. I'd like to see 20's if I had a diesel rig, though, due to the higher price of diesel. (about $3.10 here in East san diego)

good luck on your tweaking efforts.

I have been wanting to take some pics of the van that are a little nicer anyway. Those are the craigslist add pictures up there now. When I take some nicer pics I'll get some pics of the GV for you and post them. I'll take them pretty soon. Either today or tomorrow. I really like your camper btw, inspirational at the very least.

I'd sure like to get to 20 MPG. I do need to replaces my injector O rings, return lines they are seeping a little on the engine. That will help out some. I am going to time this thing to, that will help a little also. A taller skinnier tire would help to, but that means new rims to, and I don't want to shell the money for those right now. I have 16.5's, on there now and that really limits the tires sizes I can run on them. I need to get some 16" rims for this van, then I can run a skinny 33" tire on it instead of this little wide 31's.

Wow...that looks to fit perfectly! After the turbo, the GV is going to be the next high-dollar upgrade for Boomer. Perviously I was worried that it wouldn't quite fit, but it looks like a needless worry. You even have the mid tank like I do and I assume (maybe not a good assumption) that no modifications to the tank were necessary.

What transfer case do you have? Looks like a BW 1350? I wonder if the fact that I have a NP205 is a consideration?

Thanks for posting the pics.
