Hey cyclists

How are you guys carrying your bikes in/on your Discoverys? I am building up a carbon mountain bike right now and would like to carry it inside the vehicle, thinking of getting one of the fork mounts and mounting it under the rear, drivers side seat so that I can fold the seat forward and clamp the bike in.

Anyone done this, pics?

Not sure your size, but measure the space you have to use. I did this a bunch of years ago and the only seat configuration that would work was the 2nd row folded down, not forward and the fork mounted to the seat back.

I thought Chazz Layne had it in his black Disco II for two bikes mounted in the back via fork, but I couldn't find the picture of it. :(

I don't have a Rover, but bikes fit pretty easily in the back of a DII on a diagonal. Buy a couple truck bed fork mounts and mount them to a board. Fold the rear seat and lay the fork mounts about the forward edge of the wheel wells. PM if you need pictures or a better description.

I just laid mine on it's side on a diagonal. I never saw a need for a secure mount inside any of my vehicles. I'm not even sure it would fit in a D1 mounted straight, would it? Of course, I'm tall so my bikes have a long wheelbase and high bars. I also run wide bars (28" min) so that doesn't help with fit.
