Hi Lift Handle All

I bought one when it first came out.
Stays in the rig full time.
Very high quality.

I have one and I'm pretty happy with it. I use some aspect of it on every trip. There's some ease of use to be sacrificed in my opinion compared to a full size shovel or ax but that's to be expected.

Same spot for years, yellow bag on the floor.

I did use to carry the axe and shovel up on the old factory rack before I got the roof top tent.
This is much easier having it all stored inside of the rig.

I use mine around the house all the time... never had a need for it on the trail yet, but I make sure it is always in the truck. Quality is excellent, and the benefit of not needing to bolt a shovel/axe onto the truck somewhere is worth the modest price IMO. So far I've used the tools in the following tasks with zero problems:

Shovel - digging holes through all manner of ground, including rocky

Axe - chopping firewood and furniture alike, broke right through the screws in said furniture without losing the edge

Pick-axe - busting up concrete/rock

Sledgehammer - breaking apart concrete, furniture, and pounding metal back into shape

Hi-Lift sent us some in trade a year ago or so I think. We have been putting them in all the rigs and they work great.

I haven't used one of these things but... I would never use an axe with a wobbly head.

I had the same thought but after using the axe attachment for the first time last week I have to say it was not an issue. I was a bit worried about the thing slipping out of my hands- it was raining. So I used my "muck" (plummer) gloves & it was just fine.

One very small issue I encountered was while splitting a log I managed to bend the clip ring that holds the pin in the handle. It wasn't bad enough to cause the assembly to come apart but a more robust solution would be nice.

Overall I give the tool a A+

After clicking the link the OP provided, I see the clip/pin has been upgraded form the unit I've got. It still doesn't look like it will hold up long term though. The easy solution would be to carry some spare pins.

thanks for the reviews. I have been debating buying one of these and I think now I will pull the trigger.
