Hi-Lo Trailers back in production.. camper body?

Since Hi-lo's have been used by others for camper Box Body's but they went out of buisness...... well... no more

Apparently someone bought the tooling etc. and re started the biz. Been in the works for a while. First line of trailers just started leaving production. Model in production now is about 20 grand. Apparently then intend to also produce some parts for the older models as well.

PS- did message them that a small sideline they should consider was Camper Boxes for folk in here who are building Expedition Campers. They never responded but at least tried to put a bug in their ear as they say here in USA

The Current offering is a bit odd - a 16' trailer that only looks to sleep ~3 in one configuration, and that means giving up on a portapotti, etc. But nonetheless, it's a promising start. For that price, you could probably buy a new one and fit it onto a flatbed, etc. for about the same price as a soft-sided FWC. (You'd need a big truck, but they're out there.)

Yeah the interior is not fitted out to great yet. As to larger truck on flat bed...... tis what have done with them. Mostly the few that have used these have mounted them on a pivoting sub frame of some sort. Search "Bill Caid" with your fav. internet search engine for best documented example of use.

thanks... someone mentioned that they saw a FUSO thread but they assumed it was a HiLo. Searched hell and high water for it but could not find it........ well duhhhhh no wonder it was a Trail Manor.

I'd think there would be more to vibrate apart and have more dust intrussion issues on in a Trail Manor design as a camper box compared to Hi-lo design. And as another pointed out in that thread..... stopping to make lunch would be a PITA event. More so for the Trail Manor than the Hi-Lo. Granted a small cooler in the cab with the days lunch supply is a potential easy solution.

Not sure Trail Manor makes the sport model anymore either. So folk would have to go the Used Camper model route to get that.... which of course there is nothing wrong with.

The other Trail manor models can be used on the 'cab behind engine' model trucks, those cabs are short enough that the slide out goes over the cab without issue.

I don't think the trailer box is actually on the bed floor. Looks like trailer body is almost side rail high. They had to so it would allow the expansion to float over the cab. Granted that provides alot of storage below at bed level.

Similar to Bill Caid's HiLo set up which also sits at what would be above bed level.
