HiLO -- right angle prism lens for iPhone

The HiLO is a 90 degree prism lens that can be attached at any angle to the back of the iPhone. The prism allows you to use a horizontal object, like a table, as an impromptu tripod. The right angle lens allows interesting variations on high and low subjects. The video linked below shows possible ways to use the lens.

For me, the most useful aspect of the lens is that it lets you take a photo of someone without pointing the phone directly at them. That would be great for candid shots.

The pre-production price of the HiLO lens is $60. The price will go up to $80 when production starts in February.

so it's great at taking pictures pointing at the top of buildings.. pretty bulky & pricey attachment for little benefit..

the kickstart site claims: "Carrying a HiLO Lens everywhere is easier than carrying a step ladder." lol really? really grasping at straws there wouldn't you say?

I bought one of these things for my SLR when I was starting out in street photography.. never used it.. http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Voyeur-Right-Digital-Cameras/dp/B000F49052

I see humour is somewhat lost on you. I'm using sarcasm right now. That was supposed to be a joke.

Not bad for low level shots too, can replace a tripod in some situations. Certainly not everyone needs one or wants one. A lens with half descent optics costs.

Anyway, thanks for your interest.

I must be doing something wrong with my iPhone 4S. For all the discussion I read about it being the only camera I need, the pix I take simply suck by comparison even my most simple point and shoot (Canon Powershot SD870is). And that's with trying some of the upgraded apps, like the one Smugmug gives me. Don't get me started against the DSLR... I must be doing sumthin' wrong.

The HiLO is a kinda fun looking attachment. I'm so lukewarm on my iPhone's photo's I wouldn't spend anything do do more with them, though!

Should I have expected humor in that context? You want people to develop interested in the product.. Either it's a product that people inherently recognize a need for(which this is not), or you present compelling usage scenarios that might not have occurred to most people. I gave my personal opinion, it's obviously not a product I would be interested in, nor was I convinced on its usefulness from the kickstart site. However good luck with your product development.

Really? created an account just to take a personal swipe at public opinion on your product? dude...
