2 inch hitch mounted cargo storage box. It was originally a stowaway box as seen here https://www.stowaway2.com/max-cargo-carrier-black.
The box easily fully swings out of the way of the back of the truck, nearly 180*. The original box was not supported well, and broke in Baja. I found a fabricator in La Paz to reinforce/brace the stowaway mounts, then add 2 additional reinforced mounts. We then bolted a diamond plate toolbox onto it, and braced around the bolts. Since then, I have taken it all over Central America, on many 4x4 roads, topes and tumulos. I just drove from California to Ohio to Colorado, fully loaded, without issue.
The toolbox latch broke on the first day, so I have modified it to use a standard padlock (not the prettiest but its secure). The box is not sealed from dust. The box is not centered behind the truck. It could be, but you would need to raise the box up 2-3 inches, and over a few inches. On my Tacoma, I can see 1inch of the box in my driver's side mirror. On a full-sized truck this wouldn't be an issue. The frame works very well as a step to get into the bed of the truck, or a slide in camper. There is a small dent in the back of it, as seen in the photos. The frame could use some spray paint in a few areas.
Asking $500, with locking hitch pin, maxtraxx mounts (not the boards), 1 padlock. May trade for something interesting, but prefer cash. I would love to keep this as it is a perfect Baja box, but my new house has no place to store it, and I no longer have a slide in camper.
