What are your guys thoughts/experience with this platform? I guess my concerns are the following

-aftermarket support
-parts availability
-capability (I wheel pretty hard stuff)
-RHD (I've never driven RHD , not worried on road, concerned it's gonna hinder me wheeling)

Congrats. That is a unit imported by our partners at Land Cruisers Direct. The (or A) previous owner is a member here on ExPo too.

-aftermarket support
More than just about any other global platform. While not every product is obviously readily available here in the US, the bulk are and others are either en route or easy enough to get shipped.

-parts availability
Good and growing. We (Cruiser Outfitters) now stock all of the major service items from axle kits, trans & t-case kits and filters/belts but also w/s glass and a growing selection of other parts as we get demand and calls for them.

-capability (I wheel pretty hard stuff)
Short of the engine, this truck is pretty much the same setup as the Expeditions7 trucks that not only circled the globe several times but tackeled routes like Devil's Racetrack, Canning Stock Route, and the Skeleton Coast. Very capable particular for a troop carrier.

-RHD (I've never driven RHD , not worried on road, concerned it's gonna hinder me wheeling)
Off-road is less of an issue than on-road... and on-road is a non-issue imo (and I often daily drive a RHD Cruiser). Scott had a great article here:

Thanks for the input. I've been feverishly google searching parts and suppliers since I agreed to buy it. I'm a little maniacal about having readily available parts. I'm also one of those guys that can't leave a perfectly good vehicle alone! I'm always messing with something!

The nice thing is, this is already set up with lockers and a lift. Two of the items that are usually in my crosshairs when I first get a vehicle.

Question- I've heard these are dogs (power wise) is there a turbo available that you can source for this?

We are lagging getting the 2H specific parts on our site but we have filters, belts, hoses, water pump, and all the trans/tc/axle kits here in stock along with TRE kits, etc. Basically if we have had a call for service parts in the last few years... we have tried to source and stock it.

Yup, plenty of homebrew or commercially available turbo kits avail for the 2H:

Thanks again for the info, much appreciated!
I notice on the turbo links you listed, they're all AU, is there a possibility of cruisers direct having salvage set ups for sale?
Not opposed to buying new, just hate waiting. Seems every time I purchase something internationally, it takes for ever, and shippings a **********!

Nope, used setups are rare and if it is a running/driving import... nobody is pulling them off. International shipping is a chore bit we bring in regular shipments from Aus and of all sources, they are the easiest.

I have a hj47 with the 2h . It is not a powerhouse . But it is reliable I live in central Tx we have some big hills and some loaded semi trucks pass me on the long hills. don't get in a hurry learn to modulate your throttle and you will be OK. too much boost on your turbo leads to blown head gaskets so if you turbo keep boost low. The hardest part driving is merging on the highway and drive through at what a burger is difficult.

Visit here:http: //www.lcool.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=15 if you want info or parts specific to Oz spec 7x series. Kurt (Cruiser Outfitters) is as good as you can get in North America for LC parts and service. Enjoy your new Troopy!

RE: Right Hand Drive: As cmbeck points out, if you do a lot of drive-up stuff (banking, fast food, etc), you're going to develop a really long left arm...

Hey, another question to the 7x guys here. Can a second row seat be easily installed in the hj75? This one only has rear jumps.

Aint personally seen one with a 2nd row, they did them in a station wagon and a troop carrier config, troopy had the high roofline.

Mine's a cab chassis from factory so not really something I've ever had to deal with.

Edit: and as for capability? They're the par-for-course standard out here in Australia. Once you get out of town it's 70 series country.

Would a seat from a 70 , 73 , 74 fit? Those had rear seats right?
Kurt, help! Chime in please. Lol
