Holly bought a 60!

Holly found this 60 on craigslist for $1500... A bit of heckling later we picked it up for $800... Not sure what we are going to do with it yet, but something will become of it. It's surprisingly clean- was someone's baby up till 2005 then seemed to go downhill since the owner we bought it from, which made it affordable for us :sombrero:

186K on the clock, fixed a power steering and exhuast leak and drives very nice! Heck, we have the receipt for the tires from about a year ago for $700.... Just found out today that the front brakes are factory toy new rotors/pads within the last 500 miles, new a/c compressor recently and a few other goodies. Oil maintenance has been excellent, I've had the cap off of a lot of 2F's and this one takes the cake for cleanliness...

Gotta say, feels good to have a cruiser in the family again :victory:

Already modifying, check out the high clearance bumper, ha!

That's a great deal. Looks pretty clean too. Wish I could find a rust free runner up here in Colorado for a decent price. I have an '85 with loads of new parts on it, but the engine is tired and the Mag Chloride has eaten the body. I want to keep it for a parts rig if I can find another (like the one you just scored).

I wasn't sure when you guys were back from Africa and on to the next excursion. All the stickers were on the cruiser when we got it- including the skater shoes one and the weird indian sitting smoking weed... They're all gone now, except the grenade because Holly says it's cute. I guess neither one of us understand what it means, something to do with riding motorcycles?

Side note, this one spent a bit of time in Colorado- doesn't seem to have any detrimental body rust, but it's not an AZ virgin to rust...

Now for the fun part- to get this puppy through emissions. :smilies27

Now that is an exceptional woman! You are doubly lucky! Nice rig, glad to see it was not given over to the CFC program and destroyed. Wish I could find a 60 LC for that price around here. Sheeesh, some people have all the luck.

Yes, those pictures were the "just got it home" ones, it's in holly's name now (title was clean) and temporary registered to her for 30 days... Shows how smart the previous owner was.

Thanks guys, here's a pic of the engine after fixing a few leaks and cleaning it up a bit. Passed emissions, tuned for driving and runs excellent. The radiator appears to be a fairly new Toyota one, score score score!
