Looks great!
Will you have doors on the side to access the box?
That will be a long reach into the tub from the top.

Will it sit high enough with the axle over the springs?

No doors....the lid lifts and the tailgate drops down(I will get a pic ). I thought the same thing so I tried it out and I could reach to front. If I put the axle under the spring I dont think I could reach in the box. I also plan to have rtt that will raise up an additional 20 inches for a total height of about 6'4".

The idea here would be to use a scissor jack placed on the plate on the lid of the trailer. Use the jack to raise the RTT and then pin the sliding tubes in each of the corners. I could remove the scissor jack and be able to open the lid of the trailer. good idea? improvements?

Could you permanently attach the jack to the bottom side of the RTT platform? Lift platform, insert pins, crank jack closed while at camp so you can still open lid.

Great idea....I cannot think of a reason that wont work.....unless it hinders the lid from opening. I will have to try it out.

More pic

I did a little more work. I made a pattern of the nose box so it will fit on the nose correctly. I used it as a guide to get the correct angle for the nose.

If you can change the back door, consider doing a barn door type. Makes entry into the trailer much easier. You can place a slider in the box for the fridge to come out. Trying to get stuff out with out a side door and a back door that folds down, unless it goes all the way down is a PIA. I learned on my first box trailer. Did not like it at all. Went to barn doors and it was much easier to pack and remove things.

The tail gate does open all the way down. My thinking was to use it as a table when it is open. I was going to put he flat steel on the inside of the tailgate to allow a flat surface/table when it is open.
I can see the advantage of the barn doors though.
Decisions ...decisions Thanks for the idea

On my box trailers I always had a receiver tube there, and it would hit when let down. The table idea works though. It is just a pain to load them no matter how you do it. Top is always too heavy because of the tent.

update

I have been lame on the pic taking so here are some updates. Finished putting the 16g skin on the rest of the box. I decided to weld the corners of the box and that was a PITA and took ALOT of practice and fittling with the welder settings to get it right.

more update

I made the rack to hold the RTT and it slides up and down via the scissor jack. The slides are made of square tubing. I used pins secure the rack when extended and a bolt to tighten them up so there is no movement. Initial height(when all the way down) is 5 inches and when all the way up is 23 inches (all measurements are from the lid). The total height from the ground to the bottom of the RTT is 6'4" when fully extended. I attached the scissor jack to the rack so once it is extended and the rack is locked in place I can reverse the jack (up to the rack) and open the lid of the trailer. I can get pics of that if interested.
Also some pics of the tail lights
