Homemade ATV ramp roof rack...

I've considered it as well. I have a friend with a fab shop and we'd just weld instead of riveting. I like that it's low profile, but he still has the factor rack on there.

I was going to do it and even bought a ramp. Never followed through, though, as it wasn't wide and long enough. If you're looking for a ramp, I picked mine up from Cabelas for pretty cheap (~$80).

I also thought about mounting mine to load bars like these:

I could take it off if just mounting a RTT pretty easy. Economical solution.

I found one at Sportmans Warehouse I may pick up. Its 69"x48". I would mount it with small u bolts to 3 existing thule load bars.

Here is an atv rack I made this weekend. I am pretty excited about it! The U bolts went through 2 different stages. I am pleased with the finished product. Not bad for $130 bucks so far. Its very modifiable as well.

The back of the rack will have a more finished look to it with some sort of finishing aluminum stock to clean it up. It will also have 3 eye bolts running down the sides.

And the updated style I redid tonight! Much happier with this.

Anyone else tackled it? I am thining as soon as the weather breaks, I am going to try using my old tri-fold ramp on my current Thule bars and see if it is more areodynamin than my Load Warrior.

I have been reading up on these as an "economical" way for a roof rack. Really not sure what I am going to do though as I don't know anyone that can weld aluminum, all kinds of ideas out there though for sure.

Pics of the roof rack attempt from yesterday. Still needs painted and wired up, but had to help my buddy swap a fuel pump on his Ranger and ran out of time. Plus I want to see how this affects MPG and if it makes any noise before spending too much time on it. Also need to change a couple bolts and mounts. Wanted the lights and a solid roof rack but with a lower profile. Plus I had all the materials on hand and have zero cost (minus time) in trying this out.
