Homemade Zodi Extreme?

Here's what Im thinking, find a stainless steel/steel vessel like:

Chapin 1380 "Tri-Poxy" Metal Sprayer 3Gal for 48 bucks

or

Chapin 31340 "Ace" Sprayer Stainless Steel 2Gal for 60 bucks

Then do the sink sprayer mod, find a good way to tell the tempature. Paint it with Black BBQ paint. Either heat it by fire, on a stove, or even purchase the stove stand from Zodi

for 40 bucks.

What are you thoughts. DO you see any real issues?

Better yet, get a stainless beverage tank and you can pressureize it with a compressor, then you dont have to pump

It has been done before so it will definitely work. I have a friend that uses his Coleman to heat the water so no need to get a dedicated stove for it.

I would probably stay away from pre-painted tank.

Itll work just fine, or you could just spend a few more bucks, and buy an actual zodi extreme. I paid 120 for mine from amazon a few years ago. they go cheap sometimes. Then you get everything need, in a nice padded carrying case.

I would probably not mess with a compressor set-up, I did one on mine and it was way more effort than it was worth. Now I just use the hand pump, works like a champ! Perfect hot showers.

What's worked for a friend of mine when wheeling is a large plastic insecticide sprayer painted black, filled with water and left in the sun all day. Total cost for this setup is <$30.

Once you get back to camp, you simply pump it to pressurize it then you can take a nice warm shower to wash off the dirt from the day.:ylsmoke:

He also has a cool shower curtain he hangs from his roof rack but that's a discussion for another thread.:smiley_drive:

Yes, but. The plastic bottom mean that the tank can't be heated directly. Heat water and add to the tank.

Rubber feet can be removed fairly easily, use jb weld or have any muffler weld on a simple section of 6" tube as a base.

Or you could weld up a bung for an immersion heater which is how I run it. Just connect to any 12v power source.
