Hot Dog I Lucked Out

If some of you have read my threads, I don't post many, you'll notice I am very frugal and patient in waiting for what I want to buy. Took me 2 years to find the truck I wanted, so finding a camper has been the next goal but I was getting down because most were long, long drives from an already long drive (I live in SE Alaska).
I've been on an extended stay in the Lower 48 because of hunting, taking care of elder parent(s) etc., which worked out to a great deal. Yesterday I ran into an ad for a 1994 9.6 Northern Lite. I went and looked at it this AM and bought it ASAP. Got it loaded on my truck, tied it down and drove off into the rain.

Sure it's old but everything works so far and the way I figured with new campers being out of my price range, and the used ones in Canada being expensive this Lower 48 camper was perfect. We are very excited to have it.

I don't know if it is necessary but I was thinking of buying a 1000 watt Yamaha generator as most of the camp grounds in the Yukon, Alaska, etc. don't have power. Model is EF1000iS This generator seems to get good reviews and it is compact.

Any other suggestions I'd like.
For instance what kind of hose do you carry for transferring water from a city or well supply?
Do any of you use an in-line filter on the hose?
Gray water? Do you save or let it drain into bucket and then decant into out house?
Can't think of any thing else to ask. We have never had a "camper" before. Only wall tents, mountaineering tents, and camper shells, so this is like the Ritz to us.
We are excited.

Congradulations!!!

A generator isn’t a bad idea but I have had good luck with a battery separator and 150 amp hours of AGM deep cycle battery power.

I have a 20 foot (I think) hose from the rv section of Wal-mart.
The inline filter is something that I am going to buy this spring.
My gray water (sink water) drains to the ground. I did buy some environmentally friendly dish soup from the food co-op.

Now post up a picture.

I've got a 94 Texson T1000 and I don't think it's old:) I have a Honda 2000 generator very nice. I don't think it's much bigger than a 1000. The 2000 is big enough to run the AC I put in the camper. I use a hose that rolls up flat. No filter. Grey water tank. Depending on the circumstances I might drain the grey water on the ground.
